Good attendance is at the heart of good progress. Children only get one chance at school, and your child’s chances of successful future may be significantly affected by not attending regularly.
Children who attend school regularly:-
• Keep up with their school work.
• Make friends and enjoy the social side of school life.
• Have a better chance of getting a good job in the future.
All absences must be reported to the office by 9.30am on the morning of the first absence. Please ring 01904 555271. We are required by law to mark this in the register. In the interest of safety, if we not receive an explanation we will make contact with you on the first day of your child’s absence.
Please try and avoid making any medical appointments during the school day. Any appointments made please ensure you have informed the school office or Miss Murray.
The Government has made it clear that Parents/Carers do not have the right to take their children out of school for a holiday during term time. Only in exceptional circumstances will school authorise holiday during term time. A form must be submitted to the school. Each application will be considered individually. Under the Anti – social behaviour act 2008 penalty notices (fines) can be issued to parents whose children are absent without permission of the school.
